This morning we
are leaving Coron to go back to Busuanga Harbour. So…not so much great and constant internet coverage
over the next few days.
Yesterday we
busied ourselves around Coron, and spent a bit of time with lovely, helpful
Maine, who we had met last time. She
gently led Pete to yet another phone shop, to buy yet another lot of top-up for
his phone. We go through our phone cards
so much faster here; it is more expensive than in Thailand, Indonesia or
Malaysia.

In her agency, we
met cheery lone sailor, Harike, from Holland.
He attracted our attention because of his glasses…Two pairs, neither of
them worn on his eyes. I asked WHY and
he said: one pair for reading, one pair for seeing, plus sunglasses, on his
pocket, and binoculars at the ready on the boat. I imagine his sloop, Serendipity, absolutely bedizened
with glasses of various strengths and functions, all waiting to be strapped onto
his head – he says he has more than 20 sets…
And did we stop at
the hardware shop?? Yes of course. Not for enough time for me to find The Chair. But enough time for Pete to buy
U-bolts just SLIGHTLY too short, and for me to take a photo of the opportunistic dog which
makes a comfy bed in any unoccupied tricycle.
