Friday 4th April
Today we are leaving
Parapat, on the shores of Lake Toba, to go to the island in the middle of this huge,
deep lake. The island is the same size
as Singapore, or Belgium, take your pick.
It is apparently very nice over there, very calm and relaxed. But…I don’t think there will be orangutans…
It has been
POURING, on and off, all day, with enormous thunderclaps. We haven’t seen rain for so long we have been
enjoying it. Some of the time we avoided
it by lying on our (COMFY!!) bed reading, but…when we went for a walk we had to
shelter from the storm in a little shed, sitting on green plastic chairs. I zizzed off a bit; I was not very good company, all things considered...
Who knows if there will be internet on our big lake island*??
