2nd January - drinks on 2XS

Thursday 2^nd January

Last night we had drinks on 2XS.  (Maybe you think we are ALWAYS having drinks on 2XS – not so much!)  We invited four boatloads of people for 6.00, and vaguely expected, I suppose, that they would all be gone by 8.00. 

As we were going to bed, Pete was laughing quietly to himself.  Did you think, he said, that when we invited people for drinks at 6pm that they would still be on the boat at 1am??   Some people did leave earlier but most stayed and chatted and laughed and I had NO idea it was so late.  Everyone had brought food, so we certainly did not miss out on a meal.

Paolo and Simone, from SV Scarlett O’Hara brought themselves, their two children, a pasta salad and THREE delicious pizzas.  They also increased the glamour quotient on 2XS quite considerably…

Simone is a model, as is their nine year old daughter Celine.  When we first met her, near the pool at the resort, Simone was looking glorious in a very small bright yellow bikini.  She had waylaid Pete after his post-swim shower, and was asking him if they had met before.  I am sure I have met you! she said.   I had been badly stung by jellyfish, and there was a very nice man who looked just like you who was very kind and helpful.  Well yes…I am certain that if Pete had come across Simone in her bikini, badly stung by jellyfish, he would have been very kind and helpful indeed…

They kept us highly entertained – Paolo is extremely chatty and sociable.  They live in a gated community near Kuala Lumpur and have very kindly invited us to stay – who knows??  There is very high security in their “compound” but Paolo said thieves still manage to get away with the goods.  Last year a whole lot of expensive items were stolen from the houses and the police discovered that the robbers had perfected a Trojan Horse tactic.  They rented a house INSIDE the compound and strolled around looking eminently respectable while burgling away at their leisure.
