11th January - Pelau Kelang - Bicheno

Saturday 11th January

On our way from Pangkor to Penang, we stopped and anchored near a most beautiful little island.  Pelau Kelang (Monkey Island.)  It was very thickly forested, and heaving with wildlife.  We could see branches swaying as monkeys leaped and frolicked, and we could hear their lively chatter.  But…we couldn’t see anything!  Just a tantalising glimpse every now and again.  The only animal we saw clearly was some sort of wild dog on the foreshore.  It didn’t look like dog territory at all – how did he survive??

Bicheno is still wild, beautiful, windy.

Katy and I had a visit to the doctor in St Helens (FestyFinger; not mine,) which involved much conversation along the way and…an unexpected detour back through St Mary’s (Elephant Pass).

We got home much later than we thought and…dinner, then a walk with the kiddiewinks on the wild little beach.
