14th January - Bicheno - rain - blowhole

Wednesday 14th January 2015

It was still very sunny and warm on the East Coast.

Time for swimming in the Douglas Apsley waterhole,

Jemima and Eva
for some of the family.

Aunty Nicky with Jemima and Eva
And time for a family toast, with a nice bottle of Jansz, to go with our delicious flathead dinner.

The Womenfolk - Katy, Nicky, Marguerite, Claire
The Menfolk - Jeff and Gavin
Yesterday we had invited friends for a cheery summer BBQ.  And…it poured!  Monsoonal downpours!

Meriloy and Claire
Nevertheless we had fun.

Hannah and Matt came, with their Felix and their Niamh.

Zoe and Hannah had similar princess braids
Hannah makes beautiful resin jewellery; our girls thought it was Aladdin’s Cave a veritable treasure chest.

Jemima and Zoe
Nicky and Rose made a potato salad - much effort, cleaning those pesky spuds!

Today we had blowhole adventures.  Lots of wind, lots of BLOW!

A large brave crowd gathered around the blowhole.  Slightly foolhardy, I thought…

Claire wrangling Rose
Rose had to be wrangled back from the danger zone…

Leo
I was stalked all the way…see above..

Tonight we performed our WomenfolkDance for The Menfolk, with Felix joining in very enthusiastically from the couch…

We also watched Frozen, and some of us…sobbed…

Tomorrow… back to Hobart… Saturday – off to Kuala Lumpur, then Manila, then Coron (Busuanga) to clamber back onto 2XS…

  1. Did Nicky choreograph the dance - it looked like one of her famed dance moves 😃👯
