7th December - Super Typhoon Hagupit

Sunday 7th December

Lots of reports on the ABC news this morning about the Super Typhoon…so much devastation, 700,000 people evacuated, a few deaths…

From Toby on Facebook in the Philippines, looking out for 2XS…

Preparing the 2XS for Super Typhoon Hagupit (Ruby).  It should hit us late Monday, Early Tuesday.
We've got her tucked into a lagoon tied off to the mangroves (4) sides & anchored in the aft.
Hoping this will be enough to keep her safe.  We're hoping Ruby will turn NE and miss us completely.
The dive shop called us last night and told us that they were evacuating people to higher ground in the morning and wanted us to get off the Yacht and stay at the Resort for the night so we could go with them to the evacuation center in the morning.
Everything was fine this morning and we went into town to get some supplies. (Food)
Seems like they were "jumping the gun".
However, one can never can tell what "Mother Nature" will do.

Weathering the storm quietly and watching some movies.

Peace-Out Peeps

Tied off to mangroves
There are amazing photos on the internet of the evacuation from Vestas Wind.  What a huge gaping hole – it does NOT look as if they will be back in the Volvo Ocean Race…so disappointing!

Today is my mother’s birthday.  We are all, as always, enormously proud of her and of her indomitable spirit and love of life.

Back then…

And now!  Still fabulous!
