Saturday 10th May
Our Port Dickson
day has not (YET!!) been spent wallowing in the cool pool. We had just a few errands to do and caught
the shuttle bus from the hotel next door.
They build in the grand
style, in Malaysia!
There are beautiful
beaches along the coast between the marina and the main town; the main town is
not particularly beautiful…
But we did find a
very beautiful place to have lunch, sitting on the edge of a dear little bay
full of fishing boats at rest.
Our lunch cost
about $3.50 each… Pete had a fish with some rice and vegetables
He also attracted
a very keen friend…
Pete didn’t love this
new friend but the cat was undeterred and sat, with his head just up over the side
of the table to peer at Pete lovingly.
Pete ate on, grimly.

The ladies who run this little café were very keen for me to photograph the fish, and them. FACEBOOK! They cried, enthusiastically. Internet!
Tomorrow we will anchor somewhere along the coast between here and Singapore. I very much hope we will have phone connection so I can make some very important Mothers Day phone calls but…who knows??
Another May birthday – Elsa Schwan. I have on my computer a very uncharacteristic photo of Elsa, looking so very serious.* Somehow all of my other photos, other than the one I used last year, are way out of date… Usually Elsa is smiling, or laughing – she definitely sees the amusing side of things, and has a most positive attitude to life, with its many twists and turns. She has two sons , five grandsons and countless friends who consider themselves very lucky to know her.
* But I lost it and found this bright pink one!! With Elsa smiling!!
