Sunday 26th October
The Headlam family
(plus plus) gathered at 10am(ish) for a photo opp. After that the crowd gradually dispersed until
there was a very small group left. A
small group, comprising…Pete and me…

Many Headlams and friends |
A few hours go
there were cars parked outside each little house.
|
Pete's 3 oldest grandchildren - Harry, Grace, Ella |
Children were scootering and riding bikes and
kicking balls, adults were chatting. Much fun!
|
Two Tilley Hats - Chris and Pete. Angela left hers at home... |
Then they all left and…Pete’s darling little car, which has been going
like a motorised angel since he returned after twelve months of sailing2XS, decided
that he wasn’t a nice responsible owner and driver but a possible
carjacker. Alarms went off, lights
flashed, systems closed down…

Recalcitrant Car |
We could have gone
with Tim, Archie and Lynne in the enormous wheelchair-accommodating van, full
of equipment to make’s Lynne’s weekend possible and more pleasant than it
otherwise would have been. But Pete
still would have had to come back up the coast tomorrow so…we are staying in
our cosy warm little house, without the other 45 Headlam and Headlam Relations. It is drizzling outside so we can’t frolic on
the beach but we can admire it.
As for 2XS in
Coron (Busuanga, Philippines)… We get lots of phone calls from 2XS. Toby managed to fix the plumbing problem,
with support from Pete on the phone. But
everyday there is a problem with the batteries, or the engines. This far all is well…and I hope Toby and
Rosie are happy and that 2XS isn’t missing us too much…Maybe when we get back there
will be PUNISHMENT, just as the WRX is punishing Pete here in Tasmania…
