Tuesday 21st October
Motor Yacht Club - former home base of 2XS |
An auspicious
salubrious day.
Our beautiful Mt Wellington |
Sun shining, a
perfect Hobart temperature of around 18 degrees.
And…my father Adrian Harmsen’s 90th
birthday!
He was a bit sad to be sharing his Happy Birthday with
the announcement of the death of Gough Whitlam but…GW was 98… A fair innings…
A large chocolatey cake for Dad! |
We had a beautiful birthday dinner (Prossers) with only a few dozen of us missing. There will be another bigger party in
November!
Dad is very much loved, admired and respected by all
who know him, including his children – Marguerite, Peter, Chris
His grandchildren - Nicky, Claire, Katy, Michael, Kate, Max,
Will, Tim
His great-grandchildren – Hamish, Angus, Leo, Eva,
Zoe, Rose, Jemima, Felix
Oatlands sculpture for Lynne |
We visited Lynne’s
legs (and brave Lynne) this morning, and watched the physio assisting with getting
in and out of bed, and into a wheelchair.
NOT easy with so much plasterage and bootage… She is being VERY
courageous!
One white plastered leg camouflaged in the sheets; one booted leg - Melissa, Pete, Olive |
