I seem to be allowed to do this so here is a catch-up
We had a
beautiful trip from Ba’a to Nembrella.
All too pretty, the sea calm, a slight wind to help us along the
way.
We got here at
lunchtime and I made a big fruit salad, using up all of our spare fruit…
Delicious
but…maybe a mistake…
The only
shop/stand in downtown Nembrella sells…fuel for your motor bike, in a dodgy
little bottle.
Not yummy…
Bananas are
available, as are all manner of fruit and veg, on Tuesdays, only, when there is
a nice little market.
No boat wrecks
but a truly pretty truck wreck…
We found our
surfie/hitchhiker friend John as soon as we came up form the beach. He had been chatting with our friends from
Zangezi, who had discovered, at Dave’s Restaurant – MAGNUMS!!
Gavin and
Lindsay were a VERY good advertisement!
This happy dog
lives, with a slightly more nervy and less friendly pup, at Dave’s and is much
loved by Dave’s wife, Jenet.
We have
arranged to go back there tonight, for dinner, and to discuss Escape Plans for
poor John, who once again has been kidnapped by us, it would seem…Misima
revisited… He was stuck there for over a week.
The planes were all grounded and he couldn’t get out of the
Louisiades. This time, we had airily
planned to scoot along to Sumba, where there is a promising airstrip. But…maybe no planes…or only SOMETIMES.
I am writing
this in the hope that we can connect to the internet at Dave’s Restaurant…
There is a lovely big tower close to the beach but… COMPUTER SAYS NO…
We walked back
along the beach and it was very hard going…you can see how Pete has to trudge…
The sand was like quicksand and we got a lot of exercise in our short distance.
So good to hear from you! Love the pig family on an outing to the beach! There must be more to come...?
