6th February - R & R at Patong Beach (Phuket)

Wednesday 6th February

So busy, at the beach
So imagine you live on Thailand, on one of the glorious islands.  Insidiously, maybe suddenly…your island is a tourist mecca!  Weehee! Partytime!  Money time!  You encourage your nearest and dearest to learn English.  It is, after all, THE global language.

And then insidiously, maybe suddenly…the Russians are here!  Partytime!  Vodkatime!  Rubletime!  And…the Russians do not speak the global language… Just how annoying would that be???  A whole new language, a whole new money system, a whole new alphabet… No wonder the Thai people are sometimes just a bit cranky.

But nobody at the night market is cranky!

I printed off some photos and took them to the stallholders.  The dim sum lady wheeled up on her motorbike, with her family, to thank us.

We shared another thin crispy totally delicious banana/chocolate pancake and then wandered back to the dinghy.  On the way we bought, gac juice!  Delicious; a bit like mango.  Gac???
