17th September - Busuanga Island Philippines

Wednesday 17th September

I think I blithely said that we cruised up through the beautiful islands…

Well yes we did, but with what we called, on our 2XS hourly log, a gentle rolling swell.  Of at least three metres!  BIG sea!

We were very happy to wend our way into this calm and easy bay on Busuanga Island.  Boats moor here for the cyclone season, secure in the knowledge that nothing very big in the way of wind and wave will make its way into this secluded bay.

Another quaint resort across the bay (closed for the rainy season)
Maybe a good place for 2XS??

We have to find a safe haven for this beloved boat before the beginning of October.  Otherwise it is…back down south to Malaysia (Sabah, Kudat marina,) battling against the wind and the waves.  And leaving my happy place (Philippines) for my not-as-happy place (Sabah…)

This afternoon we are cosily ensconced at the Seahorse Bar & Grill at Busuanga Bay Lodge.  I have prevailed upon beautiful Mima to take a photo of us, with 2XS faintly in the background.  There are prawns; there is beer; there is internet.  We are happy!!  (I have just had a sip of chilled Jagermeister…it is a bit strange.  We have to spend 500 pesos ($12.15) each to be allowed to use the facility so – Jagermeister it is!  And a big glass of icy water to chase it down…)
