We got to
Pangkor Marina just at sunset last night.
Thank goodness – no negotiating through mysterious lights and shapes…
It is safe
here, and many of our friends are nearby, but it is nowhere near as luxurious
and glam as Port Dickson. Never mind…we
have water, and power, and all is well!
Oh and we have the darling little fan to lull us off to sleep with its
mini-jet-engine sounds at night.
The night
before we found ourselves, somewhat surprisingly, at the Royal Selangor Yacht
Club marina. We had intended to anchor
for the night, and when we got to what we thought was an anchorage, there was a
space on a pontoon instead, with many of our friends shouting HERE! HERE!!
Royal Selangor Yacht Club sounds
as posh as can be. It wasn’t. But there was a large, shady clubroom, with
high ceilings, beautiful dark wooden floors, and a restaurant. We had dinner in a party of about twelve and
enjoyed ourselves very much before retreating to our pontoon, our fan and…many
MANY nasty little bitey creatures…
Today we are
having a Day Of Rest. No rushing
about. I have already done lots of washing
– all of our sheets etc festooning the railings of 2XS. Now I am in the marina office, struggling with
the vagaries of the internet connection, in the company of several of our very
nice friends scratching their heads and – yes - struggling with the vagaries of
the internet connection.
