Back in beautiful
Rebak marina, which almost feels like home…First things first – how was
2XS? We got off the ferry with our
mini-luggage and made our way towards our particular arm of the marina…
We look almost insanely happy to be back on 2XS, back on Rebak Island, back at the beach bar... |
And how was
everything?? Ticketyboo! Perfect!
We were very relieved. No damp,
no mould, no yucky smells. (Our kind marina friends had been keeping an eye out and we are very grateful.) Obviously
there had been no durians on board…
It took us no time at all to scamper around
checking everything, unpacking everything and uttering satisfied sounds. We had lovely cold showers, a refreshing G
& T – the fridge had kept a bottle of tonic nice and cold** – and we were
BACK!!
Sign in the Geo Hotel foyer (KL) pets - because NO Mangosteens - tasty but they stain the bedsheets and towels Durians - they STINK!!! |
We met some nice
people from Zagreb – working in Dubai – at the bar. They have had a wonderful time at the resort
with their sons, much the same ages as Hamish and Angus (14 & 12.) They very much recommended the 4-hour jetski
tour of the mangroves. Fabulous! Ivona showed me breath-taking photos. Oh yes – Hamish and Angus would LOVE
this. I went to enquire this morning how
much this would be…ummm…780 ringgits*…
Our last view of
Kuala Lumpur, from the railway platform – construction!

And on the 62k
trip to the airport to the bus…many miles of dreaded oil palms.
We are very happy to be back on beautiful Rebak and we slept VERY well indeed. I am very pleased, for one thing, to have some different clothes to wear. I managed very well for a month with three very minimal changes of clothing, but I am very glad to dump everything in a black plastic bag destined for the communal laundry.
