CHILDREN from St Mary's College have sent a bright message of welcome to young asylum seekers at Pontville.

Junior school students wore yellow the international colour for human rights. And they are donating dictionaries and raising funds to buy dictionaries for the asylum seekers.
Grade 6 girls had the idea to act after last week's announcement that about 200 boys would move into group homes around Hobart.
"After completing the migration unit of the Australian curriculum, the students felt compelled to do something real to support migrants to Tasmania," year 6 teacher Nicole Wakefield said.
"The concept of Wear Yellow Day was created to do something of value rather than just talk about the issue," Mrs Wakefield said.
She and teacher Travis Little helped the students to organise the event.
Students displayed signs reading welcome in different languages.
They also filmed the event to be included in a video on the topic.
Some senior students at St Mary's have visited Pontville with the Taiko Drummers as part of the Young Vinnies group.
Asylum-seeker supporters hope the boys, aged 11 to 18, would be able to be released within weeks.
More than 70 would remain in detention at Pontville and hundreds of others at centres around Australia.
