Cool
and drizzly in Hobart. But we can’t
complain – no floods, no evacuation to school gyms like the poor people in Wagga
Wagga, Flowerdale etc. Or the people in
the USA being blown away by tornadoes! A
bit of fine, temperate drizzle is perfectly OK.
Pete
rang this morning. They were powering
along with headsail and mainsail up and they sounded very happy. Pete particularly so – he had trounced Steve most
convincingly at backgammon, with a series of doubles and lucky (skillful??)
throws of the dice.
They
should be at Philip Island soon after a night in Welshpool, which Pete said was
very pleasant. At this very moment they
are going around Wilson’s Promontory. I don’t
think their trip from Eden was very pleasant, though… They bashed and crashed
along, with 35-40 knot winds. Not fun! Pete hasn’t told me if they have seen our friendly
regional albatross friends, but I must assume they are there, faithfully following
2XS southwards.
