8th August 2016 - losses aboard 2XS

Monday 8th August 2016

Storm brewing on Nusa Island
Pete has been cruising along the coast of New Ireland (PNG,) heading for Rabaul.  Slowly and carefully, anchoring every night with plenty of daylight.

So far so good…but two nights ago he had a boatload of visitors, all lovely and friendly and cheery as usual.  But…now his precious thongs are missing and he only has slippery black Croc thongs which he hates.  They also took one of our beloved notebooks (very welcome yearly donations from Ann-Marie.)  We use these notebooks all of the time, for – well, for writing notes, mainly!  Pete does endless possible itineraries, and calculations, and diagrams.  It is a dreadful nuisance losing a book but…these notebooks are so very pretty I can imagine they would be irresistible!

I can replace both the shoes and the book but it is still just a bit distressing to have stuff stolen by our visitors…

And I have – oh joy – replaced the autopilot.  It is, as we speak, on its way to PNG in Peter Frappell’s backpack, and will bring a great deal of relief to Pete aboard 2XS.
