Well…the dolphins didn’t really care if we swam with
them or not. They zipped around the bay,
diving down down down at the flick of a tail.
Pete and I were in the water for long periods of time,
dangling by the wrist from soft orange rope loops attached to the boat. This was not as easy or comfortable as it sounds…David
drove the boat like a bat out of hell to catch up with the frisky
dolphingroups, which darted hither and thither.
Every now and then he would stop and we would clamber into the boat to breathe a bit, then we would change sides, to give the other arm a turn. It was, mild discomfort excepted, just fabulous. The dolphins dived and swirled and dashed around. Pete thought they were avoiding him because of his blue stinger suit…maybe they were! But I saw plenty and I was very happy.
