24th November - minor issues on boats

Monday 24th November

Sunrise from Pete's house (West Hobart)
All is well on 2XS.  Pete has been corresponding with Toby by email re various small annoyances.  For example, one of the transducers has completely melted…

making it impossible to use the inverter.

It hasn’t rained for three weeks so they need to cart water to and fro in jerrycans.  Life is never entirely easy, on a boat…

The beginning of the end for this pretty chair
Things go wrong in houses too.  Pete’s house is furnished with very nice antique furniture.  The dining table is satisfyingly large and seats twelve people – on very pretty but slightly spindly chairs… They are slowly and quietly falling to pieces.  They obviously were never meant to be sat on by robust 21st Century humans.

James Pete Martin
Poor Martin sat on one last time we were home and it fell apart – he was left sitting on the floor looking surprised and surrounded by small splinters of what once had been a pretty spindly chair.
