23rd November - Hobart days

Sunday 23rd November

Sandy Bay Beach - just about in the city centre
A glorious sunny warm Hobart day.

We have been extremely busy and we have been testing the limits of Pete’s house.

It is not a very big house… There are three bedrooms plus a dark dungeon-ish room with a single bed perched hopefully in the depths.  But we managed to fit in nine extra people over the weekend.   No not ALL at the same time… Just two extras on Friday, easypeasy, and then SEVEN extras on Saturday…All went well; nobody got too badly crushed or suffocated by friends and relations.

I had a delightful excursion on Saturday morning, with Felix and Jemima.  HIGH entertainment – a trip to town on the bus!  It couldn’t have been more thrilling, going down the hills of West Hobart, around roundabouts and steep corners.

Jemima and Felix
This morning we went to Sandy Bay Beach where one of our little ones got stung by a lurking jellyfish and others climbed on the Stephen Walker sculpture.

Olivia and Holly
A beautiful Hobart weekend if…slightly exhausting…

Zoe has learned to ride her bike without training wheels.  Jeff took the wheels off and - off she went!  Up and down hills, around corners, over bumps and minor crevasses.  She is indomitable!  And her legs bear witness to her bravery in getting back on after every unplanned dismount…

And the good news is…the WRX has survived its lobotomy and now it starts Every Single Time.  WEE HEE!  We will NEVER take this for granted…
