13th July - Turtle Islands

Sunday 13th July

Today we have bobbed around on the beautiful blue sea surrounding the Turtle Islands.  I have swum about seventeen times; it is very very hot and sunny.  I am hoping for some more glorious big fat storm clouds, and another big fat rainshower, such as we had in the late afternoon yesterday.

Tomorrow there are rally events, including … a midnight feast and turtle watching on the beach!  And by midnight they REALLY mean midnight, not just evening; I will have to stay awake!

We have large numbers of army, navy, police and coastguards boats buzzing around the 17 rally boats anchored around these islands.  Sometimes it all feels a bit Dunkirk...

  1. But it makes all of us at home very happy knowing that you are in convoy and have added security. We watched Captain Phillips recently!
