Today Pete has gone off on a mission in Eric’s bright
red twin cab ute, with a miscellaneous assortment of people from Soggy Paws
(yacht) and Soggy Paws (catamaran.)
They are taking three life rafts in to Davao to be inspected. This needs to be done every three years. I want nothing to do with any of this, and am
spending the day lying on various couches and flat surfaces in front of a
collection of whirring fans. I do think
mu back spasms are lessening so I hope another day of drugs and being prostrate
will help. And re life rafts – aagghh!! I hope never EVER to need to get into
one. They are horrid confined cramped little
vessels. They bob about and whirl and
turn, just like a particularly horrid ride in a theme park. Even totally non-nauseated people get seasick
in a life raft. My plan would be ALWAYS to
stick on board 2XS, which is big and solid and which will never EVER sink, even
if it might turn upside down. (Yes this would
be awkward…but better than a life raft!!)
Jolene went to the Immigration office yesterday, because
they have returned to the Philippines after checking out to go to Borneo. Their engine seized up and Labyrinth had to
return, limping slightly, to Ocean View.
The Immigration officials were mightily disappointed to see Jolene alone…
“But where is your husband? We want to
see him!! He is SO handsome!! He really is a film star, isn’t he?”
One of the women wants to take Jolene into a back room next time they go to Immigration. They will do a bit of a makeover – mani/pedicure. The queue can wait! And the gayest young man in the office wants
to teach Jason ballroom dancing. “A bit
of jazz, a bit of samba, and quite a lot of DIRTY!” he said, happily.
