Some soothing pansies
It seems a bit ridiculous but…I have been too busy even to look at my computer.  My phone gets a bit of (fleeting) attention so I do manage to answer emails and glance to Facebook.

Otherwise it is all GO!!

New Year Eve was great, at Philippe and Ann-Marie’s, in their little city cottage.  We all went and stood on the street and watched the fireworks and sang Auld Lang Syne with much feeling.

And there were delicious cocktails!!
Most of the time now there are at least two things happening simultaneously… For example while we were in Liverpool St, James was having a party in Pete’s house.  So…Pete didn’t get to bed until 4.50…I was MUCH more conservative and was asleep at 2.50…

On the 2nd we had a big Harmsen family BBQ at Waterworks.  A bit chilly but so wonderful to have so many of us together.

Some of us
Pete was there but AT THE SAME TIME he was at MONA and then Salamanca with his Launceston family…he is truly a Time Lord…

I only had one visit to the Taste of Tasmania.  We watched a busker who tried very VERY hard but who really wasn’t very good at all.  He got Katy out to liven things up and she very kindly smiled in an encouraging way…

On New Years Day we met up with some family and friends at MONA for the big New Years Day concert.    It was both hot and cold at the very  same time…We had to leave before You Am I because…at the the same time as being at the concert we were having the wonderful Oestler family to dinner…Chloe is now a fully qualified vet, working in a practice near Geelong.  She regaled us with James Herriot-type stories and showed us her battle scars (mostly long and festy scratches from crazed cats who never appreciate visits to the vet.)

At the same time as this the Darceys and the Humes arrived to stay.  We didn’t quite manage to have 22 people in the house, as did the Woods on Christmas Day, but we did manage to jam ten sleeping bodies into the house.   James and Nicole with Grace, Olivia and Matilda from Launceston, and their house-guests Bob and Mary with Vivi, Canadians working in Ukraine.  (Love those Canadians!  We will all miss them very much; they are a great addition to Tasmania and bring joy and laughter wherever they go.)

On Saturday night it was Kate Headlam’s 40th birthday party, at the Metz.

Kate's cake!
Everyone dressed up, everyone had a great time.

Much dancing, much chat.

Today Michael and I are going to lunch, at Mures Upper Deck (his choice.)  And so it goes…
