Yesterday afternoon we did a walk, from Raja Ampat Dive Lodge along the beach to two villages.

It was the sabbath and some of the children were in their Sunday Best.

Other children were as cheeky as boys are all around the world…

The dogs were calm and plump

and everyone was very happy to be photographed.

 There is a big population explosion…

and they are constructing an enormous church in what seems to be a small community. 

But growing!!

Pete and John stopped to look at every single dugout along the way.

And they were totally intrigued by neatly stacked and fenced piles of rock on the beach.  We asked lots of people WHY?? and WHAT?? But we got blank stares in reply so…maybe we will never know.

We found a cemetery…

And a tomb in a front garden…which I have lost so here is a photo of Pete and John, babes in the wood, on the jungle path...

When we got back we found the jetty full of our new Dive Lodge friends…waiting to come and visit us on 2XS…

I had told Pete they might want beer and he said, “Surely not, they are Hindus??” and I laughed…

This morning we are going for another dive…might have time to write later if I am not EXHAUSTED!!  Diving might sound easy and cruisey but…it is not…
